Food Recommendations
It's going to be my third time in Houston and normally I look around Yelp to figure out which restaurants to try. I figured I might ask here as well to see if there's any good recs. I do have a few things saved on my list already.
For Vietnamese food:
- Hu Tieu Hong Phat for hu tieu
- Duc Phuong Thach Che for sweets/snacks
- Vua Bun Bo for bun bo hue
- Dong Ba Restaurant for bun bo hue
- Kim Son for buffet
I am trying to narrow down a pho place. I've tried Pho Dien before and someone has mentioned Pho Tran and Pho Sapa. Is there another pho place that you guys would say is a must?
I am looking for a burger place and it seems like burger chan and toasted coconut is pretty good. Has someone tried both places? Which one would be the best option for a classic burger? My husband doesn't care for a lot of fancy toppings or anything like that.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a Xi'an place? I'm looking for a place that has both liangpi and lamb/mutton noodle soup with biang biang noodles. I looked up Northern Pasta and Xing's Kitchen but they only had one of the dishes i was looking for and not the other one (unless I'm blind, which is highly likely as well).
I booked reservations for Hugo's Sunday brunch but it looks like all their sister restaurants (Caracol/Xochi) also offer a Sunday brunch. Do they all serve pretty much the same things? I've read that Caracol may have more seafood offerings?
Also looking for meat heavy restaurant — maybe either a steakhouse or an AYCE Korean BBQ joint? It's going to be my friend's birthday and he likes his meats so just wondering if there's any hidden gems in either category. I would have to decline any Brazilian BBQ recs though since my husband isn't a fan of that.
Thanks in advanced! Sorry for the long post!
