Food bank questions

Anyone here knows how to get food from Houston's food bank? I am not a citizen. I am an asylee and I am not permitted to work yet. Can someone who has used the food bank let me know how the procedure is like? Do I need to show ID? What if I'm not a citizen? Will I be turned away? Also, what kind of food do they give out? I can't cook. Are there any other places that give out free food preferably ready-to-eat? Thank you
