Trump Burger will open in Houston early this year, with flame-grilled burgers and buns branded with the president’s name

Weeks after Donald Trump was inaugurated for a second term as president of the United States, a restaurant dishing out burgers stamped with “Trump” on the bun is planning its opening in Houston.

Trump Burger, a small Texas chain with outposts in Bellville and Flatonia, is opening a new location at 3410 Chimney Rock Road in West Houston in the next few weeks, according to a report by the Houston Chronicle. The owner, Roland Beainy, says he chose Houston because there was high demand for his burgers from local residents who were traveling more than an hour to visit his Bellville location.

Beainy did not immediately respond to Eater’s requests for comment.

Trump Burger is known for its flame-grilled burgers, which are served on buns branded with the word “Trump.”

Trump Burger’s Houston outpost will be its third location in Texas; the restaurant first gained traction because of its Trump-branded burgers, chicken sandwiches, and Philly cheesesteaks. Its first location in Belville opened in 2020 and serves grilled burgers, fried chicken tenders, and salads. According to photos posted to its official Facebook page, the burger joint is indeed very Trumpy. The restaurant is decked out in red, white, and blue; features an array of Trump photos and merchandise; and boasts life-sized cardboard posters of the president.

Beainy recently opened a fourth location in Flatonia, nearly two hours west of Houston. It has a red, illuminated “Trump Burger MAGA” sign in bold letters and photos of Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump on its windows. (Beainy is also planning a fourth location in Kemah.) None of the locations is officially affiliated with the president, who was re-elected for a second term in November 2024.

An immigrant from Lebanon who moved to the U.S. in 2019, Beainy told the Chronicle he has worked in the food industry for 20 years and still owns restaurants in Lebanon and Dubai. In the Chronicle story, he explains that he opened Trump Burger because he supports and appreciates the current (and former) president. He credits the president with uplifting the economy during his tenure and believes his burgers — the best he’s ever made, according to him — will attract Trump supporters and opposers alike. “Food makes peace with everybody,” Beainy tells the Chronicle.

It turns out, however, that Trump Burger has not been peaceful. Beainy tells the Chronicle police have been helpful during alleged disturbances from those who oppose the restaurant’s flagrant Trump branding. It’ll be interesting, of course, to see how the restaurant fares in West Houston: Trump Burger’s planned outpost for the city is located near the Gulfton neighborhood, home to many “recent immigrants from Mexico and Latin America,” according to the local government’s Super Neighborhood Resource Assessment of Gulfton. Houston officials stated that the neighborhood was 72 percent Hispanic and 15 percent Black as of 2019.

Houston is also predominantly blue and has voted Democratic in presidential elections since 2008. Fifty-two percent of Harris County, the county in which Houston residents, voted for presidential candidate and former vice president Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, according to a Fox Houston news report.
