Flying with temporary DL out of IAH

I am new Texas resident coming from Florida. Today, I had an appointment with the DPS to get my Texas Driver’s License. I had to surrender my Florida’s DL and was given a paper temporary Texas DL to use while I wait for it to come in the mail. I have a flight tomorrow out of Houston, and the DPS assured me that I can use the temporary paper license as identification. However, on the TSA website it says they do not permit temporary licenses. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and if they were able to get through TSA with temporary license.
