Flying out of Hobby airport

Flying out of Hobby with my daughter early one morning next week. Is there much of a price difference in Uber Vs Lyft. Does it make sense to book in advance or just wait until the night before? How early should we arrive? I have some anxiety with flying and she’s never flown before so I want to make sure we’re there in plenty of time. I don’t want to leave anything to chance. It’s also been several years since I’ve flown.
