Flood of People?

Hello everyone, I recently got a job at MD Anderson and am moving to Houston. However, the cost of apartments has soared ASTRONOMICALLY in the past month. Even the landlords have told me they have never leased this many units in their entire life. Every time I am interested in a particular unit and go to apply, it gets swept underneath me.

Houstonians of Reddit … why is the entirety of the United States and then some leasing every apartment in the city of Houston?
