Flood Insurance first time homebuyers

We just bought our home and closed a couple of weeks ago. We’re new to Houston and didn’t realize that there is a timeline for flood insurance. Initially, we got a quote for $600 but now the same company is saying that they met their “quota” for the year and the flood insurance now (2 weeks later) will be $1200. We’re first time home buyers and new to the state. Is there something else we can do?
