Fixing your own pipes

Disclaimer I am not a plumber

It is beyond difficult right now to find parts and people to fix your pipes and being cut off from water for weeks is not a fun experience so I am just sharing what I did. I bought some pipe solder from Lowes (thick lead free ones in the soldering section), some Flux, and some endstops in our pipes sizes. Our leak happened in a smaller area so I shut off the main water and got to work. Our pipes were in an inconvenient section so we used a drywall saw to cut open the drywall which can be replaced in the future. You need a hacksaw to remove the damaged section of pipe and then apply Flux to the ends of the pipe and the endstops. After applying the endstops to the pipe ends we then soldered it shut with the solder and a blowtorch. Restores water for the mean time and endstops are likely still available.
