First timer- places to eat near airport?

Hello! I’m going to Houston for a work conference in just a few days. It’s actually my first time flying and going on any type of trip/vacay in over 10 years so I’m pretty stoked about it.

But since I’m going for a conference, my time will be limited. I’ll be staying at a hotel near the airport, and when I googled the area, all I saw were fast food chains, and a whole bunch of land. 😅

Can any locals give me some solid restaurant or to-do recs within about a 5-10 mile radius? Appreciated!
