first time in Houston

Hello, it’s my first time visiting Houston and I have a couple of questions.

How walkable is Houston? We are staying at a hotel in Fountainview drive and we love walking, but is it safe to walk from there to the galleria?

I would love some tips on what to do and where to eat! We’ve watched several videos but we still are a little bit clueless. I would appreciate everyone’s help!
