first time attending the rodeo Houston

hi guys so I've been to the rodeo once way back in 2012 when i was like in the 7th grade but this is my first time actually going on my own with a few friends i have a question the main reason i wanna go is for the rodeo portion of it sure i also wanna enjoy the carnival and what not but i mainly wanna see the timed events as well as the bull rides, bucking horses etc my question is if i wanna get access to that do i have to purchase concert tickets? i don't really care much for a concert lol i see many different ticket options for grounds admition, concert and rodeo tickets and several other options is my best bet going to be to buy tickets to a concert i probably won't even stay to watch? or which tickets will allow me to watch the rodeo?
