First Summer Electric Bill

So we just moved here in November 2022 from Washington state. This month was our first summer time electric bill and it seems super high compared to what I’m used to seeing in summer. Obviously we’re using AC here whereas in Washington home AC isn’t as common, but maybe for new builds.

Turns out my bill is $154 at 1220kwh. Is this a lot for Houston? New build home 3500sf, 2 story each with an AC unit. I’m used to $80 bills in the summer so with AC constantly running I guess this makes sense.

Also I’m frugal when it comes to HVAC. Wifey hates it 🤷‍♂️
