Finding the Christmas spirit

So I grew up in Houston, and wasn't ever really a big fan of Christmas and I figured that was just me. But I just spent three years somewhere where it feels more like the stereotypical movie Christmas, and I finally understood why people enjoyed all that goes into the holiday.

Anyway, now we are back and that Christmas magic is gone again. We've done a couple of light shows and attempted decorations but the motivation to finish is fleeting.

I'm not necessarily looking for advice, just seeing if other people have felt the same way. Almost every one I know seems to have no problem transitioning into holiday mode, so wanted to see if it was just me.
