Fashion in mid October

I’m visiting Houston for the first time, for a long weekend (this Thursday – Sunday) and I’m not sure what to pack. I’m from the mid Atlantic, so we’ve pretty much begun the transition to full blown fall attire. The forecast is in the 90°s and I was wondering if it’s more common to dress for the temperature or for the season? Any tips would be appreciated! In my late 30s with a classic style.
