Family coming in from out of town… where should they stay?

Hello everyone!!

I have family flying into Houston and they are looking to stay there for a day or two and get to know the area before driving to us over in Dallas.

I have never been to Houston and don’t know anything about the city, but they are not from the US so they need some help finding an area to stay in.

They want to stay somewhere they can get to know the city and see the culture, but still feel safe especially as foreigners. They will have a rental car, but a walkable neighborhood would be best since that would be easier for them than driving in a foreign city. They like good restaurants, museums, architecture and anything of that sort that they can experience and explore to get to know a new city!!

Any suggestions on neighborhoods, specific hotels and things to do would be appreciated!!
