EZ Tag damages at peeling off?

My question is can you peel off an eztag and reuse it? I place it to a location that I feel it blocks my view a bit, so I peel it off and place it to another location (still 4” away from top). When I search online, their FAQ says it is no longer working if you peel it off, the chip inside will be damaged while peeling it off. Is that true? Any of your tag been peeled it off and is still working?
