Exploring local history and landscape.

I’ve taken an interest in seeking out the remains of the former small communities which now make up all the bayou city. Especially the old Freedom Colonies. I took this photo whilst hunting for the old Riceville Cemetery along Keegan’s Bayou. So many historical places are unmapped and so many wildlife habitats are daily destroyed. I even saw a baby deer on this hike. So much of our wildlife and our history is being displaced daily.
