ER recommendations for an UNinsured patient aside from Ben Taub?

My mother was advised to go to the ER for a blood infusion (?) for low hemoglobin. She is in her 60s and we are concerned about her catching something else while there and would really like for her to get better treatment (not just medical but not being treated like crap as a person). Does she have any other options (as far having no insurance). We are in the downtown area so I know we have options. Just wondering about how not having insurance would work out
