Engineering job demand?

I’m from the SETX area, but moved away to NM to work as an engineer. Well I really miss TX and I’m looking to come back. I’m a mechanical R&D engineer and I work in Defense. Are there any companies that are hiring like crazy right now? I’d rather do space/defense but I am also interested in subsea oil/gas. I’d even take a slight paycut to get back. I have almost 2 years experience.
