Energy Company is taking me for a ride.
Hey y’all, on mobile, sorry for formatting issues if there are any.
There was an issue on the meter read at my house and my utility company is charging me $1266 for 8880 kWh of use. Their website says I only used about 1500-1700 during the 3 week period of the meter read. So my bill should only be around $180-$220. And they won’t change the bill unless CenterPoint finds an error with the meter, which could take up to 3 weeks.
What can I do to speed up the process? I’m not paying this bill. I can’t afford it, and it’s wrong. Any advice? Thanks in advance!!
Edit: Thank you, u/gk802! I created an account and they screwed up the starting reading by 7000 kWh.
