Electricity Providers So Expensive Currently

Why are electricity providers so expensive right now? The prices are ridiculous. Lowest price per kWh is 14.2 cents on powertochoose.org.

We have one more year left on our lease, so we cannot sign long term. My wife and I use around an average of 625 kWh monthly. Any advice on what to do?
