Electricity Bill in Texas

Anybody else bill up super high the month of August? I live in a small 2 br apartment. My bill is usually around $128.00 for me and my daughter. My daughter has been gone for the summer visiting her dad and I got a bill of $206.71. That's up $78 dollars and I'm literally using one room, compared to the three we use when my daughter is here. I contacted Ambit and they said they know it's unexpectedly high but there is nothing they can do due to Texas energy rates? Should I switch companies or is this problem all over Texas due to the power grid situation?
