Electric scooter ownership in Houston

I am contemplating buying an electric scooter, and am wondering if anyone can post about life with an electric scooter in Houston. Granted, the urban area near downtown are probably easy to deal with, but what are considerations I should think about? Are there electric scooter owner clubs? How practical is to to commute on the Metrorail or the bus with a folding electric scooter? Are there parts of town that one shouldn’t be riding in? How is coexistence with bicyclists and motor cars?
