Electric House, no gas

We are looking to move in the next 3 months. I would like to stay in the Rosenberg Richmond area be we are also looking in Fresno Sugar Land area.

We’ve been having real trouble trying to find a house with the square footage we need along with it not having a ton wrong with it.

Anyway, we did finally find one that has a great layout! But it is all electric, no gas at all. My husband and realtor say it’s a deal breaker for them but I guess I don’t really see it? I mean it’s Houston. We have short winter unless there is a freeze. Wouldn’t a heat pump make it fine? And an induction stove? Our electric by like 2k-3k a year since it’s a two story. Other than this the house is basically perfect.

Is having an all electric house really that bad?
