Eddie V’s (West Ave.) for live music/ jazz?

Hey all. We Houstonians know that live jazz – particularly during a weeknight – is a pretty rare thing. I've got a good friend driving down from Dallas next week who wants to have dinner Tuesday night, hopefully with some live music. Anyone been to Eddie V's? I have not…yes it is pricey but my friend is willing, if the music is good.
