Earthy tap water

A few days ago I started noticing my shower water and sink water had a ‘earthy smell’, at least for the first minute or two that the water was running. Then yesterday the filter in my fridge became full and I drank a glass of water. It tasted like straight up dirt.

I worried it was just my house, like a broke or leaking pipe somewhere, but some else on my instagram was lamenting the same ‘earthy’ tasting water. I’m in the second ward, not sure where the other IG user is.

So anyone else? Anyone have idea why?
