Dusty is a boomer.
Dusty Baker is a great manager, but the way he manages weighs heavily on veteran status and feelings instead of facts. His lineups lately have been consistently triggering for me and a lot of other people. Jose Abreu is still trying to figure out that he’s supposed to actually swing at the ball when it’s pitched at him instead of watching it, and Yordan Alvarez at 3-hole has been lead-off so many innings lately because no one else can hit. Yordan lead off 2 innings last game against the A’s. The Astros have Jose Altuve back and this is awesome, but we also have a great utility player Mauricio Dubon, whom is the only player hitting above .300 on the entire team. Yet he hasn’t played in over 3 games. Diaz gets his first homerun a few games ago, and as a reward he doesn’t get to play catcher or DH for 3 games. Dusty is single handedly going to destroy us if he keeps playing these stupid ass line ups within using any actual statistics to back it up besides that he feels it’s good.
Ideal Line-Up:
- Altuve (2B)
- Pena (SS)
- Alvarez (DH)
- Bregman (3B)
- Tucker (RF)
- Dubon/Julks (LF)
- Abreu (1B)
- Diaz/Maldi (C)
- Meyers/McCormick (CF)
I also think we bring Drew up and send Corey Julks down.
