Dumping AT&T for Ezee Fiber Soon – Thoughts on your service so far?
I have a 1Gb plan with ATT and have had it for a few years. Service is pretty dependable, but my speeds all over the place. I can stand in the same room, on the 5Ghz network and get upwards of 500~700 Gbps. If I'm on 2.4Ghz, it's somewhere around 400~500. The minute I walk out of that room, I'm getting 50~60 on 2.4Ghz, maybe. I work from home some days and I'm roughly 20 feet away, through two walls, and I get (normally) 30~50 Gbps.
I have an Amplifi mesh system, because I wanted it to reach upstairs. Even using either 2.4 or 5Ghz. the speeds are still extremely low, compared to what I'd like to see. I don't necessarily need anything over 100 Mbps, but for what I'm paying ($79 a month) I'd expect better. Ezee Fiber has been sending flyer after flyer and they installed in our neighborhood about a year and a half ago. They tore up a bunch of lawns, cut cable lines, cut power lines, trashed sprinklers, etc. I don't really care about all of that b/c those were just the contractors. I'm more curious about the service (what speeds/any service drops/customer support) that they provide. Are you happy with your service so far? I live in the Cypress area.
