Driving on the beaches

Good morning, I was thinking of taking my kids on the beach for a drive (I have a stock Jeep Gladiator). Any recommendations from someone that has done it before? I was thinking Matagorda since someone mentioned to me that is fun? But don’t know how to access it or anything else. Any recommendations are very appreciated
