Drive Safe Out There
|
A couple of weeks ago, I was driving home on the West Beltway around the Westpark exit going north around 3:30 PM. A giant piece of tire was in my lane and traffic was pretty bad, so I decided to try and straddle it in my Honda Civic instead of swerve and risk an accident. It caused some significant damage to my lower engine cover, and I proceeded to drag the aluminum and plastic underneath my car for two more exits until Briar Forest and Walnut Bend Elementary school, where I was able to pull over. The noises my car was making were traumatizing, not to mention the looks the elementary school kids gave me absolutely did not reassure me things were OK. It ended up being $400 worth of damage to replace the under engine covers. If I had swerved I'm guessing it could have been much worse. Be careful out there! submitted by /u/rnjackson87 |
