Downtown Jury Duty

I've read a few posts on tips for jury duty but I have a couple questions I didn't see the answer to in the other posts. Even though I don't love the idea of serving on a jury, I'm not looking for tips on how to get out of it. Much thanks in advance!

  1. If I'm packing a lunch, what all wouldn't be allowed? Would homemade things be ok or should I bring in prepackaged foods? Can I bring canned drinks or should I stick to plastic bottles?

2a. In terms of the parking I saw mixed responses, if i drive, will I have to pay for the juror parking garage, is it free, or will the court validate my parking? If it's validated, what is the process for validation? 2b. I have the option of taking the metro, all busses not the park and ride, would this be easier that dealing with parking at all? Driving is half the time of travel than metro so I was leaning towards driving.

  1. I saw I'm some other posts that it's advisable to wear a jacket bc it can get chilly. I am unfortunately very prone to being cold even at 72°F. Besides the fact I'd have to bring it through security, could I bring a blanket?

  2. Clothing/ accessory wise, would leaving off all of my normal jewelry make security easier? I wear 2 necklaces layered which always gets picked up at the airport, if it makes it significantly easier I can leave them at home.

  3. I will obviously be leaving all of my metal things that I normally carry around at home, but I will have my keys in my bag. What other things should I make sure to bring/leave at home? Wireless earbuds, portable charger, charger cord, book, etc.?

  4. Any other tips/ tricks I've missed?
