Door-to-door sales out of control

I just moved to Houston (Cypress specifically) and the number of solicitors is insane! I don't want to be rude but honestly I don't want a new security system, don't want a solar system, don't need my water tested by a random person, I already have internet, etc. etc.

How do I deal with them? Do "No Soliciting" signs work? I've had to listen to about a dozen sales pitches in two weeks and I'm getting so tired of it!
