Don’t let people misdirect criticism of CenterPoint towards linemen, this is a red herring.

There are a lot of people playing the contrarian game of trying to find someone to support so they can create a counter-argument in response to the irritation many are expressing over CenterPoint. At no point in the last several days has anyone directly gone after linemen. Even when someone complains about seeing a lack of linemen or seeing them staged somewhere, these are not comments about the linemen themselves; these are comments directed towards CenterPoint and its leadership. People know it’s not the linemen out there making decisions about what to work on and when, this is entirely under the purview of CenterPoint leadership.

This is the same tired tactic that gets used to misdirect criticism and frustration by making people feel guilty for expressing their opinions by insinuating that some negative comments are directed towards individuals, such as the linemen in the field. This red herring tactic dilutes the justified criticism towards leadership by muddying the waters and is often employed to protect companies and leadership from some of the strongest forms of criticism.

Anyone who begs sympathy for the linemen in response to criticism of the company should be cautiously engaged, as they might not be acting in good faith.
