Dog friendly Galveston trip ideas?

Would love any suggestions on a dog-friendly trip to Galveston!

Looking for a beach to walk our dog along, open to suggestions for parks and state parks as well. I know it’s Galveston so I don’t expect perfection — just looking for a nice, decently clean beach. Would prefer to avoid the ferry to Bolivar though. Do not mind paying entrance fee is the beach/park is nice enough.

Would also like to have lunch somewhere that is relatively good and also dog friendly!

Any other suggestions also welcome.
