Does the Ren Fest check bags

It’s that time of year! I know there’s a post on here saying they didn’t check bags two years ago, but that was two years ago. Have they upped safety measures? Is there a metal detector? It’s been a really long time since I’ve gone, just wondering what kind of bag to bring / how much elaborate jewelry to wear on my outfit so we can enter quickly. Thanks!
