Does summer 2025 remind you of the ’90s?

Clear and sunny in the morning, partly cloudy around lunch, followed quickly by dark skies and rumbling of thunder around 2PM. Most of the time that's all you got, just thunder in the distance. But occasionally you'd win the rainfall roulette and get absolutely dumped on – sometimes just a few minutes, other times having to wait over an hour for things to calm down.

This summer feels like a throwback to the '90s, when it seemed like every summer had this weather pattern. None of the '22 and '23 crap with unrelenting high pressure and weeks upon weeks of searing hot and dry days. I used to work on the top floor at Greenspoint 8 around 1995-2000 and I swear almost every summer afternoon you could look south on the Houston skyline and it would be pouring somewhere in the distance.

Houston summers wouldn't be so bad if it was always like this. Fingers crossed we stay in this pattern for a while.
