Does selecting a QB affect our drafting strategy?

What I mean is, all of these guys have a glaring flaw that sort of necessitates putting serious protection and assets ( like first three rounds) on their side of the ball to maximize development.

Bryce has his size and durability concerns (rumored to be 5’10 rather the listed 6’0)

CJ has the Ohio State thing (I don’t believe in that but others do) and his lack of playmaking (he can but he doesn’t for some reason).

Levis and Richardson are high upside projects (Richardson being the highest)

All of this to say, these guys need to be put in a serious position to succeed so we can maximize their development. We need a guard, a center, some TE’s and a couple of receivers.

This all seems obvious but going this route sort of flies in the face of “BPA always”. You can’t say that getting a franchise QB is the most important thing you can do and then set him up for failure like Mills by going BPA.

I don’t know what will happen in FA and how Caserio will use it to address the holes we have. I understand that will affect our draft strategy and give us clarity.

This isn’t some declarative, “WE MUST DO IT THIS WAY”, post. I legitimately want to know what y’all think. I want to set up the teams future as best as possible and a QB this draft might be the answer. But I know that if they aren’t set up for success it’ll set us back in a big way.

Thoughts?
