Does it pay to do Lyft/Uber in Houston?

I wanted to do this as a side gig but would have to go through their rental program since I don’t have a car at the moment, but the rental cost is kind of high or equal to a car payment ~$270 (can’t really qualify for a new car on my own). Given all that, would I make enough to cover that cost? Especially as a side thing? I’d probably be driving no more than 25 hrs/week. Thank you!
