Does #HoustonStrong = #HoustonWeak?
With every storm, we are left with mass outages. The economic impact is into the billions. The lost productivity to our kids and employers is astronomical.
We have a mayor and congressional reps that believe in shortermi’sm, and don’t believe in investing in more resilient infrastructure (ie Atlas 14 drainage) nor holding Centerpoint’s feet to the fire . Houston needs better drainage, more resilient power, multi modal transportation, and so much more. We simply don’t have the courage to do these things.
As a city, this is silly. We should aspire to be more resilient. What we are doing isn’t Houston Strong, it’s Houston Weak.
Thoughts?
