Does anyone have any good recommendations for beginner/intermediate art classes or programs in the evening?

I've been out of school for a while so I'm not really looking to enroll; just am interested in improving something that I enjoy doing in my free time.

I'm not sure if it exists or how this sort of thing works but it would be awesome to sign up for weekly classes where I can learn and maybe even meet some new people.
