Does anyone have any experience with physiotherapists in Houston? My experiences so far, have not been good.
I had some serious back issues and have had them somewhat fixed, and have been referred to physio by my doctor.
I've done this twice now, and both times the experience has not been good.
I've tried memorial Hermann twice, in different locatjons. The physio's are nice and good at their job to a point, but wether its memorial Hermann pushing them too hard or their own time mismanagement I find the following issues:
1) I'm always being seen during my appointment with multiple patients being attended to by my physio also. It reminds me a bit like a plate juggling act, that is the physio would get me to do one exercise, and then tell me to rep it as they run over to the next person and do the same.
My issue with this is that I'm rehabbing a serious injury, and you're not going to watch me squat to ensure I have 100% correct posture, muscle activation etc?
2) I get different physio's all the time. I have a specific Injury and a specific sport that I am trying my hardest to return to. When I come back the following week and a different physio doesn't even know what exercises I've been doing for the week – well, it's quite frustrating.
I've called around and a few of the places that sound good all tell me they don't do insurance. I have to file the claims through my own insurance after paying them.
My insurance won't cover a penny in this instance until $5k out of pocket, because these independent people aren't 'in network' or something.
This is my first time dealing with physio's in this country. Is this how it's always done? Where I'm from you see a physio and you have his attention for the booking. It's very similar to a physicians appointment in that they are focused on helping you.
