Does anyone else wish we had a different team name?

I just read an article that said the Texans were the least popular NFL team. I know that a big part of that is because we finished second to last, but I feel like the name “Texans” really limits our fan base to people only from Texas. I’ve only met one person in my whole life who was a Texan fan that wasn’t from or didn’t live in Texas. If you were living in North Dakota or Oklahoma and wanted to pick a team to call your favorite, out of the 32 NFL teams why would someone pick the team that’s named after a resident of a different state?

There are so many possible names that we could’ve chosen that represent the city of Houston like a rodeo, space, or oil and gas themed name but we chose the name that limits our fan base to only Texas residents.
