Do y’all believe Texans can make a playoff run, or are y’all a little nervous?
Don't get me wrong. I believe in this team. This is certainly more hope than I've had over the past 3 years. And I'm not making this post to be a "Debbie Downer" or a "Negative Nancy" or whatever derogatory term you want to give me. But, I'm a little nervous.
I was listening to a podcast called " Locked on Texans", and one their podcast on Monday, they gave a stat. Texans right now have a 46% chance of making the playoffs.
They can lose one game against the Titans and Browns and they have a 79% chance of making the playoffs.
Texans can lose to the Broncos and Browns and have a 54% chance of making the playoffs.
If Texans lose to the Browns,Titans(I believe still one game), and Jets, they have a 28% chance of the playoffs.
If Texans lose to the Colts,Browns, and Jets, they have a 7% chance of the playoffs.
See the recurring theme here? Texans have to go 4/6 in their remaining games to get into the playoffs WITHOUT help from other teams.
The remaining schedule is nothing to break out in a cold sweat about, but there are some games that concern me.
Broncos- Denver is on a really hot streak right now. Seems like Dell,Brown, and Collins are all going to be healthy and ready to play. They can also rely on Woods if need be. Broncos also have a really bad run defense, so if we can get Pierce or Singletary going early, this could be an easily winnable game.
Jets- I don't know. This just seems like a trap game. Everyone is going to come into this game expecting this as an easy "W" for the Texans. Jets are down to their 3rd string QB and so on and so forth. Here's the thing. Texans have dropped "easily winnable" games this very season. And this is such a an important game ,too I'm nervous about this one.
Browns and Titans seem like toss-ups to me as well. Browns D is going to give Stroud and the O-line problems.
What do y'all think? Are some of y'all nervous? Or is just being in the playoff picture the 1st year of the rebuild good enough, and everything else from here on just playing with house money?
It's just Texans offense has gotten off to some really slow starts this season, and they don't yet have the offensive firepower to overcome those slow starts.
