Do reasonable car rentals or Financed car repairs exist in H-town?

I’ve gotten myself into a bit of a bind as of late. My car broke down early this morning and I’m currently unable to fully afford what I believe is going to be a costly repair for my car’s engine seizing up and was wondering if anyone could recommend a place that could work with me on repair pricing? I’m willing to pay whatever it takes, as I get paid, since this car is my sole lifeline into keeping my steady job and food/housing over my head. I know, I know, I’m not unique to the situation but I don’t know where else to look. Don’t have any family in town and few friends that live close by that I could catch a ride with until I can get this sorted out. If nobody has any suggestions on mechanics/shops, I’d be interested in knowing if anyone has used and can recommend where to get a decently priced car rental.
