Do bars let you in with a temp license/expired ID?

I've been late for getting my license, I'm 21 and have a state ID that expired on my birthday. I'm going to take the license test tomorrow which will take time for it to get mailed, so would I be good to use the paper ID they give you along with the expired ID?
