Do adults even make friends?

Where could I go as a mid-30s introvert to make friends? Honestly that sounds so pathetic but hey ho, here we are. I want to branch out and learn new skills, new hobbies, be able to call someone and be like hey, I need to talk, let’s grab coffee.
