DINK apartment recommendations?

We are in our late 20s early 30s living just outside of downtown in apartments with no sense of community looking for a new complex or neighborhood that is more connected. We came from a small neighborhood where we didn’t fit the 2.5 kids demographic but we got to know a lot of our neighbors and now miss it. Does anyone still talk to their neighbors?
