Did express rolls really fail that badly?

It feels like I'm the only one that remember this place. It was a fast food sushi and other asian items place and I was exited when it first opened because there was one close to my middle school and I like sushi a lot. The prices were pretty cheap too. All I remember was that when they opened they had lots of locations around Houston and not even a year later it seems that all of the locations shut down. I only went there one time and it wasn't that bad. Here's a photo of the cup that I still had when they had their grand opening if you want to see the restaurant I'm talking about.
