Did Direct Energy take over Budget Power?

I got a letter today saying my Budget Power account is being transferred to Direct Energy. Did one company buy the other? Or maybe just sell my account? Is this normal? I just want to be sure this is legit and that something risky didn’t take place with my account/personal data.
