Diagnosed with Cancer a year ago, no insurance and have received no treatment Houston TEXAS
Got diagnosed with Thymoma Cancer a year ago Aug 2022 been trying to get insurance Medicaid or anything to receive further treatment. I'm The head of household with a family of 4 making 26$ an hr and am the only one working but cant get Medicaid to save my life. Literally. I was told open enrollment for healthcare at my job was may-June 2023 and apparently it was In January 2023 So now I can't apply for healthcare at my job for another year. I just moved to Texas a cpl years ago and I've never had a more difficult time trying to get medical care. I love my family so much and am horrified to think I might not be there to see my children grow. I've been to ERs, UTMB, HCA, and the most I've gotten is an MRI, Biopsy and a firm kick out the door. The rest of the treatment is out patient and with no insurance it is absolutely impossible to afford chemo, radiation, and possible surgeries. A biopsy alone cost 10,000$.. Social workers have been no help.. Texas is 100%dreadful to deal with medically.. If someone knows anything or a way to beat the system please help me I'm at a point where my health is struggling and everydays becoming a challenge.
